About Us
During the pandemic lockdown, interest in pickleball surged. It fit all of the requirements needed to exercise within the health restrictions. It is easy to learn and played outdoors. This was especially important once the health clubs closed their doors. It is also non contact, social and can be played by all ages. In Vacaville, a creative group of people gathered portable nets, measured and drew their own courts with chalk or tape and even drove an RV on site so that players could have a restroom each weekend. As many as 50 players would gather to play in the morning and stay until well into the afternoon. As we continue to transport our own nets and chalk our own lines, we find ourselves in an interesting position. Not everyone is aware of pickleball’s popularity or positive attributes so we have started to educate lawmakers in order to get permanent public courts built and configured to support the very important social aspect of pickleball play. This club is dedicated to not just playing the sport but to garnering public support and facilities to continue the growth of pickleball in Vacaville as a nonprofit organization. We hope you will join us, both on the court and as a supporter.
